"Good, good" the man said, smiling again"No
need to take offense He picked up the yellow pencil
and twirled it between his fingers"Each pencil," he
said, "five dollars
Five dollars! For seven, you could buy a coat--it
would be an old, patched coat, but still warm"That's
too much," Lina said
He shrugged and began to put the lid back on the
box Lina's thoughts raced"Let me
look at them again
Once more the man lifted the lid and Lina bent
over the pencilsIt was painted a
deep clear blue, and on its flat top was the blue dot of
the leadThe pink gucci back pack eraser was held on by a shiny metal
collarSo beautiful! I could buy just one, Lina thought
Then I could save a little more and buy a coat for
Granny next month
"Make up your mind," said the man"I have other
customers who are interested, if you aren'tNo, wait" It was like
hunger, what she feltIt was the same as when her hand
sometimes seemed to reach out by itself to grab a piece
of foodIt was too strong to resist"1*11 take two," she

said, and a faint, dazzly feeling came over her at the
thought of what she was doing
"Which two?" the man gucci women's watches said
There were more colors in that box of pencils than
in all of EmberEmber's colors were all so much the
same--gray buildings, gray streets, black sky; even the
colors of people's clothes were faded from long use
into mud green, and rust red, and gray-blueBut these
colors--they were as bright as the leaves and flowers in
the greenhouse
Lina's hand hovered over the pencils"The blue
one," she saidthe yellow one--no,
the
The man made an impatient noise in the back of
his throat
"The green one," said Lina"I'll take the blue and
the green She lifted them out of balenciaga dix motorcycle the boxShe took the
money from the pocket of her coat and handed it to
the man, and she put the pencils in her pocketThey
were hers now; she felt a fierce, defiant joyShe turned
to go, and that was when she saw that the baby was no
longer in the store"Did you
see my little sister go out?" she asked the man"Did
you see which way she went?"
He shrugged"Didn't notice," he said
Lina darted into the street and looked in both
77
directionsShe saw lots of people, some children, but
no PoppyShe stopped an old woman"Have you seen
a little girl, a baby, tiffany replica walking by herself? In a green
jacket, with a hood?" The old woman just stared at her
with dull eyes and shook her head
"Poppy!" Lina called"Poppy!" Her voice rose to a
shoutSuch a little baby couldn't have gone far, she
thoughtMaybe down toward Greengate Square,
where there were more people walking around
And then the lights flickered, and flickered again,
and went outDarkness slammed up in front of her
like a wallShe stumbled, caught herself, and stood
stillShe could see absolutely nothing
Shouts of alarm came from up and down the
street, and then picasso cartier silence |

For ten lives he cultivated diligently and met no more ghostsHe rose to a higher and higher position in every life until, in his tenth life, he became the Emperor's teacher and was given the title 'National Master Wu Ta' The Emperor made him a gift of an aloeswood chair, the kind only emperors usedIt was so handsome and beautifully carved that when National Master Wu Ta sat down on it he suddenly thought, 'Just how many Dharma Masters are there as lofty as I? How many have received a gift from an Emperor as fine as this chair?' His one thought of arrogance laid him open for the attack of the revengeful ghost of Ch'ao Ts'o of ten lives past
Instantly, one of his legs began to swell, and a sore which had the shape of a human face formed on itIt was complete with a mouth, nose, eyes, and earsNot only that, it could talk'You want to get away from me,' it would
say, 'but you can'tI am determined to take your life' It also demanded to be fed, and would eat only fresh, raw meatIf Wu Ta didn't give meat to the sore, it would cause him unbearable painEven though he was a National Master, Wu Ta had no way to get rid of the sore
Earlier, National Master Wu Ta had chanel jumbo bag taken care of [a certain] Venerable Kanaka when the latter's body had broken out with noxious boilsHe had waited on him, served him broths and medicines, and had cured himAt that time, the Venerable Kanaka had said to him, 'In the future, no matter what difficulty besets you, no matter how insoluble your problem may seem, come to such and such a place in Szechwan and I will find a way to help you' Wu Ta had no recourse but to find Kanaka in SzechwanThe Venerable Kanaka used 'samadhi water' to wash Wu Ta's sore, and the human face disappearedActually, the Venerable Kanaka, who was a fourth stage Arhat, did not really have an illnessHe deliberately manifested a disease as a method to save National Master Wu Ta in the future

PARABLE 079: TRANSFERENCE OF MERIT
"The concept of merit transference, or sharing one's own merits and virtues with others, is reflected in the following passage:
'Some of us may ask whether the effect of evil karma can be changed by repeating the name of Kuan-Yin (Avalokitesvara)This question is tied up with that of rebirth in Sukhavati [the Pure Land] and it may be answered by saying that the invocation of Kuan-Yin's name black fendi spy forms another cause which will right away offset the previous karmaWe know, for example, that if there is a dark, heavy cloud above, the chances are that it will rainBut we also know that if a strong wind should blow, the cloud will be carried away somewhere else and we will not feel the rainSimilarly, the addition of one big factor can alter the whole course of karma It is only by accepting the idea of life as one whole that both Theravadins and Mahayanists can advocate the practice of transference of merit to othersWith the case of Kuan-Yin then, by calling on Her name we identify ourselves with Her and as a result of this identification, Her merits flow over to usThese merits which are now ours, then counterbalance our bad karma and save us from calamityThe Law of Cause and Effect still stands goodAll that has happened is that a powerful and immensely good karma has
overshadowed the weaker one'" (Lecture on Kuan-Yin by Tech Eng Soon - Penang Buddhist Association, c
PARABLE 080: BURDENING THE DEAD
Sutra of the Past Vows of Earth-Store Bodhisattva:
"The dead one might be due to receive a good retribution and be born among men and gods in his next life or chanel clutch in the future, but because of offenses committed by his family in his name, his good rebirth will be delayedEveryone must undergo the Evil Paths in accordance with his own deeds; it is even more unbearable when survivors add to those deeds
It is as if a man had been traveling from a distant place with a hundred-pound load and had been cut off from his provisions for three daysIf he were suddenly to encounter a neighbor who gave him a few more things to carry, his load would become heavier and more distressingreating bad karma for a dead person is like adding more weight to the burden of one who is already weak with hungerThe addition of further weight can only make him stumble more heavilyhe neighbor who adds this weight stands for the relative who [makes non-vegetarian offerings to the dead]
Master Hsuan Hua, tr 170ff
PARABLE 081: KARMA IS MIND-MADE
A practitioner should have a clear understanding of the causes and conditions of calamities and fortunate eventsThese occur as a result of bad or good karma -- and karma has its source in the mindReciting or explaining sutras has the power to change a wicked mind into a pure mind, a deluded mind into an tiffany diamond enlightened mindThus, to recite or explain sutras is to create good karma, enabling sentient beings, alive or dead, to escape or mitigate the impact of negative karmaSince a Bodhisattva's mission is to rescue sentient beings and guide them to enlightenment, he should recite and explain Mahayana sutras on all occasions, and particularly during the ceremonies for the dead(Master Prajna-Suddhi)
PARABLE 082: LAMP OF A BUDDHA (SINCERE MIND)
"King Ajatasatru invited the Buddha to preach and offered as a token of his piety several tens of thousands of lampsAt the time, an old woman (named Nanda) who had been begging, and had only managed to collect two coins, bought some oil with them and offered it all in a small lamp to the Buddha[With this offering she vowed to eliminate the darkness of the sufferings of all people Old and hungry, she later collapsed and diedBy the next morning the many lamps offered by the king had already burned themselves out, but the lamp of the poor old woman was still burning with increasing brillianceWhen it proved impossible to extinguish it, the Buddha explained that it was so because of the donor's extremely fervent faith and transcendental gucci paolo watch vow |

06-09-2010 |
|
| Then in the midst of this creeping, crawling life, suddenly she
was on the crest of a waveThat wretched fly--where had she read the
story that kept coming into her mind about the fly and the
saucer?--struggled outYes, she had those momentsBut now that she was
forty, they might come more and more seldomBy degrees she would cease to
struggle any moreBut that was deplorable! That was not to be endured!
That made her feel ashamed of herself!
She would go to the London Library to-morrowShe would find some
wonderful, helpful, astonishing book, quite by chance, a book by a
clergyman, by an American no one had ever heard of; or she would walk
down the Strand and drop, accidentally, into a hall where a miner was
telling about the life in the pit, and suddenly she would become a new
personShe would be absolutely transformedShe would wear a uniform;
she would be called Sister Somebody; she would never give a thought to
clothes againAnd for ever after she would be perfectly clear about
Charles Burt and Miss Milan and this room and that room; and it would be
always, day after day, as if she were lying in the sun or carving the
muttonIt would be it!
So she got up from the blue sofa, and the yellow button in the
looking-glass got up too, and she waved her hand to Charles and Rose to
show them she balenciaga motorcycle handbags did not depend on them one scrap, and the yellow button
moved out of the looking-glass, and all the spears were gathered into
her breast as she walked towards MrsDalloway and said "Good night
"But it's top early to go," said MrsDalloway, who was always so
charming
"I'm afraid I must," said Mabel Waring"But," she added in her weak,
wobbly voice which only sounded ridiculous when she tried to strengthen
it, "I have enjoyed myself enormously
'I have enjoyed myself," she said to MrDalloway, whom she met on the
stairs
"Lies, lies, lies!" she said to herself, going downstairs, and "Right in
the saucer!" she said to herself as she thanked MrsBarnet for helping
her and wrapped herself, round and round and round, in the Chinese cloak
she had worn these twenty years
MOMENTS OF BEING
"SLATER'S PINS HAVE NO POINTS"
"Slater's pins have no points--don't you always find that?" said Miss
Craye, turning round as the rose fell out of Fanny Wilmot's dress, and
Fanny stooped, with her ears full of the music, to look for the pin on
the floor
The words gave her an extraordinary shock, as Miss Craye struck the last
chord of the Bach fugueDid Miss Craye actually go to Slater's and buy
pins then, Fanny Wilmot asked herself, transfixed for a momentDid she
stand at the counter waiting chanel jewelry like anybody else, and was she given a bill
with coppers wrapped in it, and did she slip them into her purse and
then, an hour later, stand by her dressing table and take out the pins?
What need had she of pins? For she was not so much dressed as cased,
like a beetle compactly in its sheath, blue in winter, green in summer
What need had she of pins--Julia Craye--who lived, it seemed in the cool
glassy world of Bach fugues, playing to herself what she liked, to take
one or two pupils at the one and only consenting Archer Street College of
Music (so the Principal, Miss Kingston, said) as a special favour to
herself, who had "the greatest admiration for her in every way Miss
Craye was left badly off, Miss Kingston was afraid, at her brother's
deathOh, they used to have such lovely things, when they lived at
Salisbury, and her brother Julius was, of course, a very well-known man:
a famous archaeologistIt was a great privilege to stay with them, Miss
Kingston said ("My family had always known them--they were regular
Canterbury people," Miss Kingston said), but a little frightening for a
child; one had to be careful not to slam the door or bounce into the
room unexpectedlyMiss Kingston, who gave little character sketches
like this on the first day of term while she received cheques and miu miu clutch wrote
out receipts for them, smiled hereYes, she had been rather a tomboy;
she had bounced in and set all those green Roman glasses and things
jumping in their caseThe Crayes were not used to childrenThe Crayes
were none of them marriedThey kept cats; the cats, one used to feel,
knew as much about the Roman urns and things as anybody
"Far more than I did!" said Miss Kingston brightly, writing her name
across the stamp in her dashing, cheerful, full-bodied hand, for she had
always been practicalThat was how she made her living, after all
Perhaps then, Fanny Wilmot thought, looking for the pin, Miss Craye said
that about "Slater's pins having no points," at a ventureNone of the
Crayes had ever marriedShe knew nothing about pins--nothing whatever
But she wanted to break the spell that had fallen on the house; to break
the pane of glass which separated them from other peopleWhen Polly
Kingston, that merry little girl, had slammed the door and made the
Roman vases jump, Julius, seeing that no harm was done (that would be
his first instinct) looked, for the case was stood in the window, at
Polly skipping home across the fields; looked with the look his sister
often had, that lingering, driving look
"Stars, sun, moon," it seemed to say, "the daisy in the grass, fires,
frost on the window pane, my prada milano heart goes out to youBut," it always
seemed to add, "you break, you pass, you go And simultaneously it
covered the intensity of both these states of mind with "I can't reach
you--I can't get at you," spoken wistfully, frustratedlyAnd the stars
faded, and the child wentThat was the kind of spell that was the
glassy surface, that Miss Craye wanted to break by showing, when she had
played Bach beautifully as a reward to a favourite pupil (Fanny Wilmot
knew that she was Miss Craye's favourite pupil), that she, too, knew,
like other people, about pinsSlater's pins had no points
Yes, the "famous archaeologist" had looked like that too"The famous
archaeologist"--as she said that, endorsing cheques, ascertaining the
day of the month, speaking so brightly and frankly, there was in Miss
Kingston's voice an indescribable tone which hinted at something odd;
something queer in Julius Craye; it was the very same thing that was odd
perhaps in Julia tooOne could have sworn, thought Fanny Wilmot, as she
looked for the pin, that at parties, meetings (Miss Kingston's father
was a clergyman), she had picked up some piece of gossip, or it might
only have been a smile, or a tone when his name was mentioned, which had
given her "a feeling" about Julius CrayeNeedless to say, she had never
spoken about it to christian dior saddle bag anybod |

| "Remember Pearl Harbor" became a rallying cryIt turned one of America's greatest losses into the reason to winThis great defeat gave America strength, and America soon emerged as a world power
Failure inspires winnersAnd failure defeats losersIt is the biggest secret of winners It's the secret that losers do not knowThe greatest secret of winners is that failure inspires winning; thus, they're not afraid of losing Repeating Fran Tarkenton's quote, "Winning means being unafraid to lose People like Fran Tarkenton are not afraid of losing because they know who they areThey hate losing, louis vuitton mahina so they know that losing will only inspire them to become betterThere is a big difference between hating losing and being afraid to loseMost people are so afraid of losing money that they loseThey go broke over a duplexFinancially they play life too safe and too smallThey buy big houses and big cars, but not big investmentsThe main reason that over 90 percent of the American public struggles financially is because they play not to loseThey don't play to win
They go to their financial planners or accountants or stockbrokers and buy a balanced portfolioMost have lots of cash in CDs, new omega watches low-yield bonds, mutual funds that can be traded within a mutual-fund family, and a few individual stocksIt is a safe and sensible portfolioBut it is not a winning portfolioIt is a portfolio of someone playing not to loseIt's probably a better portfolio than more than 70 percent of the population, and that's frighteningBecause a safe portfolio is a lot better than no portfolioIt's a great portfolio for someone who loves safelyBut playing it safe and going "balanced" on your investment portfolio is not the way successful investors play the gameIf you have little money and you want to be rich, chanel costume jewelry you must first be "focused," not "balanced If you look at anyone successful, at the start they were not balancedBalanced people go nowhereThey stay in one spotTo make progress, you must first go unbalancedJust look at how you make progress walking

If you have any desire of being rich, you must focusPut saddle handbags a lot of your eggs in a few basketsDo not do what poor and middle class people do: put their few eggs in many baskets
If you hate losing, play it safeIf losing makes you weak, play it safeGo with balanced investmentsIf you're over 25 years old and are terrified of taking risks, don't changePlay it safe, but start early Start accumulating your nest egg early because it will take time

| But in light of our changing times, as parents we need to be open to new and bold ideasTo encourage children to be employees is to advise your children to pay more than their fair share of taxes over a lifetime, with little or no promise of a pensionAnd it is true that taxes are a person's greatest expenseIn fact, most families work from January to mid-May for the government just to cover their taxesNew ideas are needed and this book provides them
Robert claims that the rich teach their children differentlyThey teach their children at home, around the dinner tableThese ideas may notbe the ideas you choose to discuss with your children, but thank you for looking at themAnd I advise you to keep searchingIn my opinion, as a mom and a CPA, the concept of simply getting good grades and finding a good job is an old ideaWe need to advise our children with a greater cartier ronde degree of sophisticationWe need new ideas and different educationMaybe telling our children to strive to be good employees while also striving to own their own investment corporation is not such a bad idea
It is my hope as a mother that this book helps other parentsIt is Robert's hope to inform people that anyone can achieve prosperity if they so chooseIf today you are a gardener or a janitor or even unemployed, you have the ability to educate yourself and teach those you love to take care of themselves financiallyRemember that financial intelligence is the mental process via which we solve our financial problems

Rich Dad, Poor Dad
CHAPTER ONE
Rich Dad, Poor Dad
As narrated by Robert Kiyosaki
I had two fathers, a rich one and a poor oneOne was highly educated and intelligent; he had a Phand completed four years of undergraduate work in less than two yearsHe then went on to Stanford University, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University to do his advanced studies, all on full financial scholarshipsThe other father never finished the eighth grade
Both men were successful in their careers, working hard all borse fendi their livesBoth earned substantial incomesYet one struggled financially all his lifeThe other would become one of the richest men in HawaiiOne died leaving tens of millions of dollars to his family, charities and his churchThe other left bills to be paid
Both men were strong, charismatic and influentialBoth men offered me advice, but they did not advise the same thingsBoth men believed strongly in education but did not recommend the same course of study
If I had had only one dad, I would have had to accept or reject his adviceHaving two dads advising me offered me the choice of contrasting points of view; one of a rich man and one of a poor man
Instead of simply accepting or rejecting one or the other, I found myself thinking more, comparing and then choosing for myself
The problem was, the rich man was not rich yet and the poor man not yet poorBoth were dolce and gabbana handbag just starting out on their careers, and both were struggling with money and familiesBut they had very different points of view about the subject of money
For example, one dad would say, "The love of money is the root of all evil The other, "The lack of money is the root of all evil
As a young boy, having two strong fathers both influencing me was difficultI wanted to be a good son and listen, but the two fathers did not say the same thingsThe contrast in their points of view, particularly where money was concerned, was so extreme that I grew curious and intriguedI began to start thinking for long periods of time about what each was saying
Much of my private time was spent reflecting, asking myself questions such as, "Why does he say that?" and then asking the same question of the other dad's statementIt would have been much easier to simply say, "Yeah, he's chanel classic bags righ |

|
| The whole force of the world can't do it, she said
in a fury, and that was why she said so commandingly, to the unknown
man:
"Give me an ice
Long before she had eaten it, Prickett Ellis, standing beside her
without taking anything, told her that he had not been to a party for
fifteen years; told her that his dress suit was lent him by his
brother-in-law; told her that he did not like this sort of thing, and it
would have eased him greatly to go on to say that he was a plain man,
who happened to have a liking for ordinary people, and then would have
told her (and been ashamed of it afterwards) about the Brunners and the
clock, but she said:
"Have you seen the Tempest?"
then (for he had not seen the Tempest), had he read some book? Again no,
and then, putting her ice down, did he never read poetry?
And Prickett Ellis feeling something rise within him which would
decapitate this young woman, make a victim of her, massacre her, made
her sit down there, where they would not be interrupted, on two chairs,
in the empty garden, for everyone was upstairs, only you could hear a
buzz and a hum and a chatter and a jingle, like the mad accompaniment of
some phantom orchestra to a cat or two slinking across the grass, and
the wavering of leaves, and the yellow and red fruit like bolsas prada Chinese
lanterns wobbling this way and that--the talk seemed like a frantic
skeleton dance music set to something very real, and full of suffering
"How beautiful!" said Miss O'Keefe
Oh, it was beautiful, this little patch of grass, with the towers of
Westminster massed round it black, high in the air, after the
drawing-room; it was silent, after that noiseAfter all, they had
that--the tired woman, the children
Prickett Ellis lit a pipeThat would shock her; he filled it with shag
tobacco--fivepence halfpenny an ounceHe thought how he would lie in
his boat smoking, he could see himself, alone, at night, smoking under
the starsFor always to-night he kept thinking how he would look if
these people here were to see himHe said to Miss O'Keefe, striking a
match on the sole of his boot, that he couldn't see anything
particularly beautiful out here
"Perhaps," said Miss O'Keefe, "you don't care for beauty (He had told
her that he had not seen the Tempest; that he had not read a book; he
looked ill-kempt, all moustache, chin, and silver watch chain She
thought nobody need pay a penny for this; the Museums are free and the
National Gallery; and the countryOf course she knew the objections--the
washing, cooking, children; but the root of things, what they were all
afraid of saying, was that happiness is dirt lady dior cheapYou can have it for
nothing
Then Prickett Ellis let her have it--this pale, abrupt, arrogant woman
He told her, puffing his shag tobacco, what he had done that dayUp at
six; interviews; smelling a drain in a filthy slum; then to court
Here he hesitated, wishing to tell her something of his own doings
Suppressing that, he was all the more causticHe said it made him sick
to hear well fed, well dressed women (she twitched her lips, for she was
thin, and her dress not up to standard) talk of beautyHe was afraid he did not understand beauty apart from
human beings
So they glared into the empty garden where the lights were swaying, and
one cat hesitating in the middle, its paw lifted
Beauty apart from human beings? What did he mean by that? she demanded
suddenly
Well this: getting more and more wrought up, he told her the story of
the Brunners and the clock, not concealing his pride in itThat was
beautiful, he said
She had no words to specify the horror his story roused in herFirst
his conceit; then his indecency in talking about human feelings; it was
a blasphemy; no one in the whole world ought to tell a story to prove
that they had loved their kindYet as he told it--how the old man had
stood up and made his speech--tears came into her eyes; ah, if any one
had ever said that to her! dior saddle but then again, she felt how it was just this
that condemned humanity for ever; never would they reach beyond
affecting scenes with clocks; Brunners making speeches to Prickett
Ellises, and the Prickett Ellises would always say how they had loved
their kind; they would always be lazy, compromising, and afraid of
beautyHence sprang revolutions; from laziness and fear and this love
of affecting scenesStill this man got pleasure from his Brunners; and
she was condemned to suffer for ever and ever from her poor poor women
shut out from squaresBoth were very unhappyFor
Prickett Ellis was not in the least solaced by what he had said; instead
of picking her thorn out he had rubbed it in; his happiness of the
morning had been ruinedMiss O'Keefe was muddled and annoyed; she was
muddy instead of clear
"I am afraid I am one of those very ordinary people," he said, getting
up, "who love their kind
Upon which Miss O'Keefe almost shouted: "So do I"
Hating each other, hating the whole houseful of people who had given
them this painful, this disillusioning evening, these two lovers of
their kind got up, and without a word, parted for ever
THE SEARCHLIGHT
The mansion of the eighteenth century Earl had been changed in the
twentieth century into a ClubAnd it was pleasant, after dining in c c purse the
great room with the pillars and the chandeliers under a glare of light
to go out on to the balcony overlooking the ParkThe trees were in full
leaf, and had there been a moon, one could have seen the pink and cream
coloured cockades on the chestnut treesBut it was a moonless night;
very warm, after a fine summer's dayIvimey's party were drinking coffee and smoking on the
balconyAs if to relieve them from the need of talking, to entertain
them without any effort on their part, rods of light wheeled across the
skyIt was peace then; the air force was practising; searching for
enemy aircraft in the skyAfter pausing to prod some suspected spot,
the light wheeled, like the wings of a windmill, or again like the
antennae of some prodigious insect and revealed here a cadaverous stone
front; here a chestnut tree with all its blossoms riding; and then
suddenly the light struck straight at the balcony, and for a second a
bright disc shone--perhaps it was a mirror in a ladies' hand-bagThey were in darkness again
"You'll never guess what THAT made me see! she addedNaturally, they
guessed
"No, no, no," she protestedNobody could guess; only she knew; only she
could know, because she was the great-grand-daughter of the man himself
He had told her the storyWhat story? If they liked, she would try to
tell white prada bag it |

| Whenever I feel that people aren't smiling at me, I simply begin smiling and saying hello, and like magic, there are suddenly more smiling people around meIt is true that your world is only a mirror of you
So that's why I say, "Teach and you shall receive I have found that the more I sincerely teach those who want to learn, the more I learnIf you want to learn about money, teach it to someone elseA torrent of new ideas and finer distinctions will come in
There are times when I have given and nothing has come back or what I have received is not what I wanted But upon closer inspection and soul searching, I was often giving to receive in those instances, instead of giving to give
My dad taught teachers, and he white prada bag became a master teacher My rich dad always taught young people his way of doing businessIn retrospect, it was their generosity with what they knew that made them smarterThere are powers in this world that are much smarter than we areYou can get there on your own, but it's easier with the help of the powers that beAll you need to be is generous with what you have, and the powers will be generous with you
CHAPTER TEN
Still Want More? Here are Some To Do's
Many people may not be satisfied with my ten stepsThey see them more as philosophies than actionsI think understanding the philosophy is just as important as the actionThere are many people who want to do, instead of think, and then there are people who 18k omega watch think but do not doI would say that I am bothI love new ideas and I love action
So for those who want "to dos" on how to get started, I will share with you some of the things I do, in abbreviated form
?Stop doing what you're doingIn other words, take a break and assess what is working and what is not workingThe definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different resultStop doing what is not working and look for something new to do
?Look for new ideasFor new investing ideas, I go to bookstores and look for books on different and unique subjectsI buy how-to books on a formula I know nothing aboutFor example, it was in the bookstore that I found the book The 16 Percent Solution, by Joel chanel handbags on sale MoskowitzI bought the book and read it
TAKE ACTION! The next Thursday, I did exactly as the book saidI have also done that with finding real estate bargains in attorneys' offices and in banksMost people do not take action, or they let someone talk them out of whatever new formula they are studyingMy neighbor told me why 16 percent would not work I did not listen to him because he's never done it
?Find someone who has done what you want to doAsk them for tips, for little tricks of the tradeAs for 16 percent tax lien certificates, I went to the county tax office and found the government employee who worked in the officeI found out that she, too, invested in the tax liensImmediately, she was invited to lunchShe purse logo was thrilled to tell me everything she knew and how to do itAfter lunch, she spent all afternoon showing me everythingBy the next day, I found two great properties with her help and have been accruing interest at 16 percent ever sinceIt took a day to read the book, a day to take action, an hour for lunch, and a day to acquire two great deals
?Take classes and buy tapesI search the newspapers for new and interesting classesMany are for free or a small feeI also attend and pay for expensive seminars on what I want to learnI am wealthy and free from needing a job simply because of the courses I tookI have friends who did not take those classes who told me I was wasting my money, and yet they're still at the same big chanel j |

|
| Martin could not see, his employees could not see, or my dad for that matterHe used examples that sounded cruel at the time, but I've never forgotten themMy vision widened that day, and I could begin to see the trap that lay ahead for most people
"You see, we're all employees ultimatelyWe just work at different levels," said rich dad"I just want you boys to have a chance to avoid the trapThe trap caused by those two emotions, fear and desireUse them in your favor, not against youThat's what I want to teach youI'm not interested in just teaching you to make a pile of moneyThat won't handle the fear or desireIf you don't first handle fear and desire, and you get rich, you'll only be a high-paid authentic hermes slave
"So how do we avoid the trap?" I asked
"The main cause of poverty or financial struggle is fear and ignorance, not the economy or the government or the richIt's selfinflicted fear and ignorance that keeps people trappedSo you boys go to school and get your college degreesI'll teach you how to stay out of the trap
The pieces of the puzzle were appearingMy highly educated dad had a great education and a great careerBut school never told him how to handle money or his fearsIt became clear that I could learn different and important things from two fathers
"So you've been talking about the fear of not having moneyHow does the desire of money affect our thinking?" Mike asked
"How did you feel when I chanel quilted handbag tempted you with a pay raise? Did you notice your desires rising?"
We nodded our heads
"By not giving in to your emotions, you were able to delay your reactions and thinkThat is most importantWe will always have emotions of fear and greedFrom here on in, it is most important for you to use those emotions to your advantage and for the long term, and not simply let your emotions run you by controlling your thinkingMost people use fear and greed against themselvesThat's the start of ignoranceMost people live their lives chasing paychecks, pay raises and job security because of the emotions of desire and fear, not really questioning where those emotion-driven thoughts are leading themIt's just like the picture omega geneve of a donkey, dragging a cart, with its owner dangling a carrot just in front of the donkey's noseThe donkey's owner may be going where he wants to go, but the donkey is chasing an illusionTomorrow there will only be another carrot for the donkey
"You mean the moment I began to picture a new baseball glove, candy and toys, that's like a carrot to a donkey?" Mike askedAnd as you get older, your toys get more expensiveA new car, a boat and a big house to impress your friends," said rich dad with a smile"Fear pushes you out the door, and desire calls to youEnticing you toward the rocks
"So what's the answer," Mike asked
"What intensifies fear and desire is ignoranceThat is why rich people with lots of chanel handbags collection money often have more fear the richer they getMoney is the carrot, the illusionIf the donkey could see the whole picture, it might rethink its choice to chase the carrot
Rich dad went on to explain that a human's life is a struggle between ignorance and illumination
He explained that once a person stops searching for information and knowledge of one's self, ignorance sets inThat struggle is a moment-to-moment decision-to learn to open or close one's mind
"Look, school is very, very importantYou go to school to learn a skill or profession so as to be a contributing member of societyEvery culture needs teachers, doctors, mechanics, artists, cooks, business people, police officers, firefighters, black gucci bag soldiers |
