| Generations from now, people will look back at this period of time and remark at what an exciting era it must have beenIt was the death of the old and birth of the newIt was full of turmoil and it was exciting
So why bother developing your financial IQ? Because if you do, you will prosper greatlyAnd if you don't, this period of time will be a frightening oneIt will be a time of watching people move boldly forward while others cling to decaying life rings
Land was wealth 300 years agoSo the person who owned the land owned the wealthThen, it was factories and production, and America rose to dominanceThe industrialist owned the wealthToday, it is informationAnd the person who has the most timely information owns the wealthThe problem is, gucci paolo watches information flies all around the world at the speed of lightThe new wealth cannot be contained by boundaries and borders as land and factories wereThe changes will be faster and more dramaticThere will be a dramatic increase in the number of new multimillionairesThere also will be those who are left behind
Today, I find so many people struggling, often working harder, simply because they cling to old ideasThey want things to be the way they were; they resist change I know people who are losing their jobs or their houses, and they blame technology or the economy or their bossSadly they fail to realize that they might be the problemOld ideas are their biggest liability It is a liability simply because they fail to realize that while that idea or way chanel pearls of doing something was an asset yesterday, yesterday is gone
One afternoon I was teaching investing using a board game I had invented, CASHFLOW, as a teaching toolA friend had brought someone along to attend the classThis friend of a friend was recently divorced, had been badly burned in the divorce settlement, and was now searching for some answersHer friend thought the class might help
The game was designed to help people learn how money worksIn playing the game, they learn about the interaction of the income statement with the balance sheetThey learn how "cash flows" between
the two and how the road to wealth is through striving to increase your monthly cash flow from the asset column to the point that it exceeds your j monthly chanel classic bags expensesOnce you accomplish this, you are able to get out of the "Rat Race" and out onto the "Fast Track"
As I have said, some people hate the game, some love it, and others miss the pointThis woman missed a valuable opportunity to learn somethingIn the opening round, she drew a "doodad" card with the boat on itAt first she was happy "Oh, I've got a boat Then, as her friend tried to explain how the numbers worked on her income statement and balance sheet, she got frustrated because she "had never liked mathThe rest of her table waited while her friend continued explaining the relationship between the income statement, balance sheet and monthly cash flow Suddenly, when she realized how the numbers worked, it dawned on her that her boat was eating her chanel jewelry necklace aliveLater on in the game, she was also "downsized" and had a childIt was a horrible game for her
After the class, her friend came by and told me that she was upsetShe had come to the class to learn about investing and did not like the idea that it took so long to play a silly game
Her friend attempted to tell her to look within herself to see if the game "reflected" on herself in any wayWith that suggestion, the woman demanded her money backShe said that the very idea that a game could be a reflection of her was ridiculousHer money was promptly refunded and she left
Since 1984, I have made millions simply by doing what the school system does notIn school, most teachers lectureI hated lectures as a student; I was soon bored and my mind would gucci men watches dri |

The three village leaders?Mary Waters, Ben Barlow,
and Wilmer Dent?had joined the crowd by now
and were leading the way across the cabbage fieldTorren
kept close behind themThe strangers were getting
nearer, and he wanted to hear what they would sayHe
could see that they were terrible-looking peopleTheir
clothes were all wrong?coats and sweaters, though
the weather was warm, and not nice coats and sweaters
but raggedy ones, patched, unraveling, faded, and
grimyThey carried bundles, all of them: sacks made of
what looked like tablecloths or blankets gathered up
and tied with string around the neckThey moved
clumsily and slowlySome of them tripped on the
uneven ground and chanel j12 watches had to be helped up by others
In the center of the field, where the smell of new
cabbages and fresh dirt and chicken manure was
strong, those at the front of the crowd of strangers met
the village leadersMary Waters stepped to the front,
and the villagers crowded up behind herTorren, being
small, wriggled between people until he had a good
viewHe stared at the ragged peopleWhere were their
leaders? Facing Mary were a girl and a boy who looked
only a little older than he was himselfNext to them
was a bald man, and next to him a sharp-eyed woman
holding a small childMaybe she was the leader
But when Mary stepped forward and said, "Who
are you?" it was the boy who answeredHe spoke in omega speedmaster day-date a
clear, loud voice that surprised Torren, who had
expected a pitiful voice from someone so bedraggled
"We come from the city of Ember," the boy said"We
left there because our city was dying
Mary, Ben, and Wilmer exchanged glances"The city of Ember? Where's that? We've
never heard of it"
The boy gestured back the way they had come, to
the east "That way," he said"It's under the ground
The frowns deepened"Tell us the truth," said Ben,
"not childish nonsense
This time the girl spoke upShe had long, snarled
hair with bits of grass caught in it"It isn't a lie" she
saidOur city was undergroundWe didn't
know it until we came out
Ben snorted impatiently, folding his arms gucci backpacks across
his chest "Who is in charge here?" He looked at the
bald man"Is it you?"
The bald man shook his head and gestured toward
the boy and the girl"They're as in charge as anyone,"
he said"The mayor of our city is no longer with us
These young people are speaking the truthWe have
come out of a city built underground
The people around him all nodded and murmured,
"Yes" and "It's true
"My name is Doon Harrow," said the boy"And
this is Una MayfleetWe found the way out of Ember
He thinks he's pretty great, thought Torren, hearing
a note of pride in the boy's voiceHe didn't look so
greatHis hair was shaggy, and he was wearing an old
jacket that was coming apart at the seams and tiffany knockoff grimy at
the cuffsBut his eyes shone out confidently from
under his dark eyebrows
"We're hungry," the boy saidWill
you help us?"
Mary, Ben, and Wilmer stood silent for a moment
Then Mary took Ben and Wilmer by the arms and led
them aside a few stepsThey whispered to each other,
glanced up at the great swarm of strangers, frowned,
whispered some moreWhile he waited to hear what
they'd say, Torren studied the people who said they
came from undergroundThey did in fact look as if they
had crawled up out of a holeMost of them were
scrawny and pale, like the sprouts you see when you
lift up a board that's been lying on the ground,

| Granny dozed most of the time
Poppy, delighted to have Lina at home to play with,
kept toddling over with things she found--dust rags,
134
kitchen spoons, stray shoes--and whacking them
against Una's knees, saying, "Play wif dis! Play wif dis!"
Lina was glad to play with her, but after a while she'd
had enough of spoon-banging and rag-tugging and
shoe-rolling"Let's do something else," she said to
Poppy"Shall we draw?"
Granny had drunk a full cup of soup for dinner
and was falling asleep again, so Lina got out her
colored pencils and two of the can labels she'd been
saving--they were white on the back and made good
enough drawing paper, if you flattened them outWith
their sharpest kitchen knife, she whittled the pencils
into pointsShe gave the green pencil and one chanel watch j12 white can label
to Poppy, and she herself took the blue pencil and
smoothed out the other can label on the table
What would she draw? Taking hold of a pencil was
like opening a tap inside her mind through which her
imagination flowedShe could feel the pictures ready
to come outIt was a sort of pressure, like water in a
pipeShe always thought she would draw something
wonderful, but what she actually drew never quite
matched the feelingIt was like when she tried to tell a
dream--the words never really captured how it felt
Poppy was grasping the pencil in her fist and making
a wild scribble
"Lovely," said LinaThen, without even a dear idea
of what it was to be, she began her own pictureShe
started on the left side of the can labelFirst she drew
135
a tall, narrow box--a chanel jewelry necklace buildingThen more boxes next
to it--a cluster of buildingsNext she drew a few tiny
people walking on the street below the buildingsIt
was what she nearly always drew--the other city--and
every time she drew it, she had the same frustrating
feeling: there was more to be drawnThere were other
things in this city, there were marvels there--but she
couldn't imagine what they wereAll she knew was that
this city was bright in a different way from Ember
Where the brightness came from she didn't know
She drew more buildings and filled in the windows
and doors; she put in streetlamps; she added a
greenhouseAll the way across the paper, she drew
buildings of different sizesAll the buildings were
white, because that was the color of the paper
She set her pencil down for a moment and balenciaga blue studied
what she'd doneIt was time to fill in the skyIn the
pictures she'd done with regular pencils, the sky was its
true color, blackBut this time she made it blue, since
she was using her blue pencilMethodically, as Poppy
scratched and scribbled beside her, Lina colored in the
space above the buildings, her pencil moving back and
forth in short lines, until the entire sky was blue
She sat back and looked at her pictureWouldn't it
be strange, she thought, to have a blue sky? But she
liked the way it lookedIt would be beautiful--a blue
sky
Poppy had started using her pencil to poke holes
136
in her paperLina folded up her own picture and took
Poppy's away from her"Time for dinner," she said
Sometime deep in the night, Lina woke suddenly,
thinking she'd heard somethingHad tiffany heart tag necklace she been dreaming?
She lay still, her eyes open in the darknessThe
sound came again, a weak, trembling call: "Lina
She got up and started for Granny's room
Though she had lived in the same house all her life, she
still had trouble finding her way at night, when the
darkness was completeIt was as if walls had shifted
slightly, and furniture moved to new placesLina
stayed close to the walls, feeling her way alongHere
was her bedroom doorHere was the kitchen and the
table--she winced as she stubbed her toe on one of its
legsA little farther and she'd come to the far wall and
the door to Granny's roomGranny's voice was like a
thin line in the dark air
"I'm coming, Granny," she called
She stumbled over something--a shoe, maybe-- and fell against the bed"Here I am, Granny!" she shop prada handbags sai |

| There was still time before the play
"But where do I begin?" she ponderedIt must
have been about then that my greatgrandfather was a boyI'm not young
myself"--no, but she was very well set up and handsome--"and he was a
very old man when I was a child--when he told me the storyA very
handsome old man, with a shock of white hair, and blue eyesHe must
have been a beautiful boyThat was only natural," she
explained, "seeing how they livedThey'd come down
in the worldThey'd been gentlefolk; they'd owned land up in Yorkshire
But when he was a boy only the tower was leftThe house was nothing but
a little farmhouse, standing in the middle of fieldsWe saw it ten
years ago fake fendi spy bag and went over itWe had to leave the car and walk across the
fieldsThere isn't any road to the houseIt stands all alone, the
grass grows right up to the gate there were chickens pecking about,
running in and out of the roomsAll gone to rack and ruinI remember a
stone fell from the tower suddenly"There they lived," she
went on, "the old man, the woman and the boyShe wasn't his wife, or
the boy's motherShe was just a farm hand, a girl the old man had taken
to live with him when his wife diedAnother reason perhaps why nobody
visited them--why the whole place was gone to rack and ruinBut I
remember a coat of arms over the door; and books, old books, gone
mouldyHe taught cartier watches women himself all he knew from booksHe read and read, he
told me, old books, books with maps hanging out from the pagesHe
dragged them up to the top of the tower--the rope's still there and the
broken stepsThere's a chair still in the window with the bottom fallen
out; and the window swinging open, and the panes broken, and a view for
miles and miles across the moors
She paused as if she were up in the tower looking from the window that
swung open
"But we couldn't," she said, "find the telescope In the dining-room
behind them the clatter of plates grew louderIvimey, on the
balcony, seemed puzzled, because she could not find the telescope
"Why a telescope?" someone chloe bag bay asked her
"Why? Because if there hadn't been a telescope," she laughed, "I
shouldn't be sitting here now
And certainly she was sitting there now, a well set-up, middle-aged
woman, with something blue over her shoulders
"It must have been there," she resumed, "because, he told me, every
night when the old people had gone to bed he sat at the window, looking
through the telescope at the starsJupiter, Aldebaran, Cassiopeia She
waved her hand at the stars that were beginning to show over the trees
It was growing drakerAnd the searchlight seemed brighter, sweeping
across the sky, pausing here and there to stare at the stars
"There they were," she went on, "the louis vuitton neo cabby starsAnd he asked himself, my
great-grandfather--that boy: 'What are they? Why are they? And who am
I?' as one does, sitting alone, with no one to talk to, looking at the

darkness over the treesThe stars seemed very permanent, very
unchangingThe roar of London sank awayA hundred years seemed
nothingThey felt that the boy was looking at the stars with themThey
seemed to be with him, in the tower, looking out over the moors at the

Then a voice behind them said:
"Right you are
They all turned, shifted, felt dropped down on to the balcony again

|
I have several friends who have generated over a billion dollars in their short lifetimesThe three of them report the same phenomenon: Their friends who have no money have never come to them to ask them how they did itBut they do come asking for one of two things, or both: 1
A WARNING: Don't listen to poor or frightened peopleI have such friends, and I love them dearly, but they are the "Chicken Littles" of life When it comes to money, especially investments, "The sky is always falling They can always tell you why something won't workThe problem is, people listen to them, but people who blindly accept doom-and-gloom information are also "Chicken Littles As that old saying goes, "Chickens of a feather chanel cambon tote agree together
If you watch CNBC, which is a goldmine of investment information, they often have a panel of so-called "experts One expert will say the market is going to crash, and the other will say it's going to boomIf you're smart, you listen to bothKeep your mind open because both have valid pointsUnfortunately, most poor people listen to "Chicken Little
I have had more close friends try to talk me out of a deal or an investmentA few years ago, a friend told me he was excited because he found a 6 percent certificate of depositI told him I earn 16 percent from the state governmentThe next day he sent me an article about why my investment was dangerousI have received 16 percent for years now, and he chanel jumbo flap still receives 6 percent
I would say that one of the hardest things about wealth building is to be true to yourself and be willing to not go along with the crowdFor in the market, it is usually the crowd that shows up late and is slaughteredIf a great deal is on the front page, it's too late in most instancesAs we used to say as surfers: "There is always another wave People who hurry and catch a wave late usually are the ones who wipe out
Smart investors don't time marketsIf they miss a wave, they search
for the next one and get themselves in positionWhy this is hard for most investors is because buying what is not popular is frightening to themTimid investors are like sheep going along with the chanel white purse crowdOr their greed gets them in when wise investors have already taken their profits and moved onWise investors buy an investment when it's not popularThey know their profits are made when they buy, not when they sellAs I said, they do not time the marketJust like a surfer, they get in position for the next big swell
It's all "insider trading There are forms of insider trading that are illegal, and there are forms of insider trading that are legalBut either way, it's insider tradingThe only distinction is how far away from the inside are you? The reason you want to have rich friends who are close to the inside is because that is where the money is madeIt's made on informationYou want to hear about the next fendi b bag boom, get in and get out before the next bustI'm not saying do it illegally, but the sooner you know, the better your chances are for profits with minimal riskThat is what friends are forAnd that is financial intelligenceMASTER A FORMULA AND THEN LEARN A NEW ONE: The power of learning quicklyIn order to make bread, every baker follows a recipe, even if it's only held in their headThe same is true for making moneyThat's why money is often called "dough
Most of us have heard the saying "You are what you eat I have a different slant on the same sayingI say, "You become what you study In other words, be careful what you study and learn, because your mind is so powerful that you become what you put in your louis cartier h |

"I have kept my promiseI've been teaching you from afar," my rich dad said"At 9 years old, you've gotten a taste of what it feels like to work for moneyJust multiply your last month by fifty years and you will have an idea of what most people spend their life doing
"I don't understand," I said
"How did you feel waiting in line to see me? Once to get hired and once to ask for more money?"
"Terrible," I said
"If you choose to work for money, that is what life is like for many people," said rich dad
"And how did you feel when MrsMartin dropped three dimes in torebki louis vuitton your hand for three hours' work?"
"I felt like it wasn't enoughIt seemed like nothingI was disappointed," I said
"And that is how most employees feel when they look at their paychecksEspecially after all the tax and other deductions are taken outAt least you got 100 percent
"You mean most workers don't get paid everything?" I asked with amazement
"Heavens no!" said rich dad"The government always takes its share first
"How do they do that
"Taxes," said rich dad"You're taxed when you earnYou're taxed when you spendYou're taxed when you saveYou're taxed when prada fairy you die
"Why do people let the government do that to them?"
"The rich don't," said rich dad with a smile"The poor and the middle class doI'll bet you that I earn more than your dad, yet he pays more in taxes
"How can that be?" I askedAs a 9-year-old boy, that made no sense to me"Why would someone let the government do that to them?"
Rich dad sat there in silenceI guess he wanted me to listen instead of jabber away at the mouth
Finally, I calmed downI did not like what I had heardI knew my dad complained constantly about paying so much in taxes, but white chanel bag really did nothing about itWas that life pushing him around?
Rich dad rocked slowly and silently in his chair, just looking at me
"Ready to learn?" he asked
I nodded my head slowly
"As I said, there is a lot to learnLearning how to have money work for you is a lifetime studyMost people go to college for four years, and their education endsI already know that my study of money will continue over my lifetime, simply because the more I Find out, the more I find out I need to knowMost people never study the subjectThey go to work, get their paycheck, balance their pink vuitton bag checkbooks, and that's itOn top of that, they wonder why they have money problemsThen, they think that more money will solve the problemFew realize that it's their lack of financial education that is the problem
"So my dad has tax problems because he doesn't understand money?" I asked, confused
"Look," said rich dad"Taxes are just one small section on learning how to have money work for youToday, I just wanted to find out if you still have the passion to learn about moneyThey want to go to school, learn a profession, have fun at their work, and earn lots of gucci pantheon mon |

| "Lister--he's the
Pipeworks director--was in the bathroom practicing
his singingHe won't miss the key todayAnd
tomorrow, everyone will be off work He did an
impatient shuffle"So come on," he said
The town clock struck the first of its twelve noon
180
time boomsLina stuffed her copy of the Instructions
back in her pocket
The Pipeworks was empty and silentLina and Doon
went up the hallway past the rows of boots and the
slickers hanging on their hooksThey didn't take any
of these for themselvesThis was not a Pipeworks
tunnel they were about to enter, they were sure; it
wouldn't be dripping with water or lined with spurting
pipes
They went down the long stairway and out into
the main tunnel, where the river thundered replica chanel jewelry alongside
the path, its dark surface strewn with flecks of light
Doon led the way along the river's edgeAs they
neared the west end, Lina saw the rocky outcroppings
Doon had described to herThey were strange bulging
shapes creased with lines like the faces of the very old
Not far beyond, Lina could see the place where the
river disappeared into a great hole in the Pipeworks
wall
Doon knelt down beside a clump of stonesHe ran
a finger over their convoluted surface"Look here," he
saidLina stooped down and peered at the deeply
carved linesIt was hard to see the E at first, because it
was surrounded by such a tangle of other lines, and
because she was expecting it to be an E drawn with
straight strokesBut once she saw it--an E drawn with
curving lines, chanel necklace a script E--she was sure it had been
181
carved on purpose: it was centered on its stone, and its
lines were deep and even
"So from here we should look down at the river,"
said Doon"That's what the Instructions said, 'down
riverbank to ledge'
He lay on his stomach next to the rock and inched
forward until his head hung out over the edge of the
pathLina watched him anxiouslyHis elbows stuck up
on either side of him, and his head, bent down, was
nearly invisibleHe stayed that way for long seconds
Then he shouted, "Yes! I see something!" and
scrambled to his feet again"Look
at the riverbank right below us
Lina did as he hadShe lay down and pulled herself
forward until her head was over the edgeEight
feet or so below her, she prada borse saw the black water churning
byShe tucked her chin in and looked at the riverbank
It was a sheer rock wall, straight up and down and slick
with spray, and at first that was all she sawBut she kept
looking and before long could make out short iron
bars bolted into the bank, one below the next, almost
directly below herThey were like the rungs of a ladder
They were a ladder, she realizedThe bars provided a
way to climb down the riverbankNot a very appealing
way--the bars looked slippery, and the water below
was so terribly fastAnd because of the dimness and
the flying spray, she couldn't actually see if there was a
ledge at the bottom or notBut the E was clearly an E,
182
and the bars were clearly a ladderThis must be the
right tiffany knockoff place
"Who'll go first?" said Doon
"You can," Lina said, getting to her feet and stepping
away Doon turned so that his back was to the
river, and he eased himself carefully over the rocks,
feeling for the first rung with his footLina watched as
he sank out of sight, little by littleAfter a few moments
his voice called up from below: "I'm down! Now you
come!"
Lina inched backward, just as Doon had, letting
one foot dangle over the edge, lower and lower, until it
touched the first rung of the ladderShe shifted her

| He
ached to do something truly important, like finding
the secret of electricity, and, as his father watched, be
rewarded for his achievementThe size of the reward
didn't matterA small certificate would do, or maybe a
badge to sew on his jacket
Now he was stuck in the muck of the Pipeworks,
patching up pipes that would leak and break again in a
matter of daysIt was even more useless and boring
than being a messengerThe thought made him suddenly
furiousHe sat up, grabbed a shoe heel out of the
bucket at this feet, and hurled it with all his mightIt
arrived at the front door just as the door openedDoon
heard a hard thwack and a black gucci bags loud "Ouch!" at the same
momentThen he saw the long, lean, tired-looking
face of his father in the doorway
Doon's anger drained away"Oh, I hit you, Father
Doon's father rubbed the side of his headHe was
a tall man, bald as a peeled potato, with a high fore
50
head and a long chinHe had kind, slightly puzzled
gray eyes
"Got me in the ear," he said"What was that?"
"I got angry for a second," said Doon"I threw one
of these old heels
"I see," said his fatherHe brushed some bottle
tops off a chair and sat down"Does it have to do with
your first day at work, son?"
"Yes," said Doon"Why don't you tell me about
it," chanel 2.55 bag he saidWhen he was finished, his father
ran a hand across his bald head as if smoothing down
the hair that wasn't there"Well," he said, "it
sounds unpleasant, I have to admitAbout the generator,
especially--that's bad newsBut the Pipeworks is
your assignment, no way around itWhat you get is
what you getWhat you do with what you get,
though that's more the point, wouldn't you say?"
He looked at Doon and smiled, a bit sadly
"I guess so," Doon said"But what can I do?"
"I don't know," said his father"You'll think of
somethingThe main thing is to
pay attentionPay close attention to everything, notice
what no one else noticesThen chanel purse white you'll know what no
one else knows, and that's always useful He took off
his coat and hung it from a peg on the wall"How's the
worm?" he asked
51
"I haven't looked at it yet" said DoonHe went
into his room and came out with a small wooden box
covered with an old scarfHe set the box on the table
and took the scarf off, and he and his father both bent
over to look inside
A couple of limp cabbage leaves lay on the bottom
of the boxOn one of the leaves was a worm about an
inch longA few days before school ended, Doon had
found the worm on the underside of a cabbage leaf he
was slicing up for dinnerIt was a pale soft green, tiffany and co jewelry velvety
smooth all over, with tiny, stubby legs
Doon had always been fascinated by bugsHe
wrote down his observations about them in a book he
had titled Crawling and Flying ThingsEach page of the
book was divided lengthwise down the centerOn the
left he drew his pictures, with a pencil sharpened to a
needle-like point: moth wings with their branching
patterns of veins; spider legs, which had minute hairs
and tiny feet like claws; beetles, with their feelers and
their glossy armorOn the right, he wrote what he
observed about each creatureHe noted what it ate,
where it slept, where it laid its eggs, and--if he knew-- how long it chanel wallet live |

| The deer king implored him to stop the unnecessary killing and promised that each day he himself would give the lord the number of deer which he requiredOne day, he was faced with the necessity of sending a pregnant deerRather than sacrifice her with her unborn child, the deer king went to
the lord to offer his own flesh insteadThe lord was so moved by the deer king's compassion that he stopped the daily killing and gave it the landHence it was named the Deer Park
Sokk: 59-60
Note: The Deer King was Buddha Sakyamuni in a previous lifeHis great act of compassion was met by an equally lofty act which resulted in the creation of an animal sanctuary and a pilgrimage site
PARABLE 025: COMPASSION (THE HIMALAYAN PARROT)
"In a thicket at the foot of the Himalayan Mountains there once lived a parrot together with many other animals and birdsOne day a fire started in the thicket from the friction of bamboos in a strong wind and the birds and animals were in frightened confusionThe parrot, feeling compassion for their fright and suffering, and [remembering] the kindness he had received in the bamboo thicket where he could shelter himself, tried to do all he could to save themHe dipped himself in a pond nearby and flew over the fire and shook off the drops of water to extinguish the discount hermes fireHe repeated this diligently with a heart of compassion [for all the animals in the thicket]This spirit of compassion and self-sacrifice was noticed by a heavenly god who came down from the sky and said to the parrot: 'You have a gallant mind, but what good do you expect to accomplish by a few drops of water against this great fire?' The parrot answered: 'There is nothing that cannot be accomplished by the spirit of compassion and self-sacrificeI will try over and over again and then over in the next life' The great god was impressed by the parrot's spirit and they together extinguished the fire (The Teaching of the Buddha)

PARABLE 026: CULTIVATION (EASY PATH)
Pure Land School
"The ancients used to say, by way of comparison: Practicing other methods is as difficult and laborious as an ant climbing a high mountain; reciting the Buddha's name seeking rebirth in the Pure Land is as swift and easy as a boat sailing downstream in the direction of the blowing wind
Moreover, once reborn there, living in an auspicious and peaceful environment, always in the company of Buddha Amitabha and the Bodhisattvas, the practitioner will swiftly achieve success in whatever Dharma method he choosesHe is like a log rolling down a high mountain, which just keeps going and never stops, even for chanel cambon tote a moment
Master Tam: 236
PARABLE 027: CULTIVATION (METAPHYSICAL SPECULATIONS)
Arrow Smeared With Poison
"It is as if a man had been wounded by an arrow thickly smeared with poison, and his friends and kinsmen were to get a surgeon to heal him, and he were to say, I will not have this arrow pulled out until I know by what man I was wounded, whether he is of the warrior caste, or a brahmin, or of the agricultural, or the lowest casteOr if he were to say, I will not have this arrow pulled out until I know of what name or family the man is -- or whether he is tall, or short, or of middle height efore knowing all this, that man would dieSimilarly, it is not on the view that the world is eternal, that it is finite, that body and soul are distinct, or that the Buddha exists after death that a religious life depends
Whether these views or their opposites are held, there is still rebirth, there is old age, there is death, and grief, lamentation, suffering, sorrow, and despair have not spoken to these views because they do not conduce to an absence of passion, to tranquility, and NirvanaAnd what have I explained?
'Suffering have I explained, the cause of suffering, the destruction of suffering, and the path that leads to the destruction of suffering have I explained'"

PARABLE 028: CULTIVATION (MIND AND BODY)
"The Buddha said:
'There was once someone who, plagued by ceaseless sexual desire, wished to castrate himselfThe Buddha said to him, 'To cut off your sexual organs would not be as good as to 'cut off' your mindYour mind is like a
supervisor: if the supervisor stops, his employees will also quitIf the deviant mind is not stopped, what good does it do to cut off the organs?'"
